SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - It's a big honor for a local nonprofit that provides assistance dogs to people with disabilities. They will be part of President Obama's inauguration parade.
Canine Companions for Independence, which has a training center in Oceanside, was one of 43 organizations chosen out of nearly 3,000.
The organization says it's excited to participate in such a historic event.
"We're very honored to be part of the inaugural parade," instructor Becky Miller said. "We have 57 dogs that are going to be participating in the parade."
The parade will be held in Washington, D.C. on Monday.
