Multicultural festival in downtown

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - In the dream of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., hundreds of people gathered downtown for a festival celebrating cultures of the world.

The Sheila Hardin Multicultural Festival was held along the MLK Promenade on Harbor Drive.

It celebrated San Diego's rich cultural diversity and heritage through live entertainment, food, activities and much more.

"This is something that Dr. King's dream is really about. When everybody can come together and unite and bring peace to not only here in southeast San Diego, but throughout the world," says Cynthia Gilliam.

The festival has been a local tradition for the past 15 years.
