SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Police are searching for evidence Thursday morning after a man was found shot outside a Clairemont apartment complex.
It happened just after 8:00 p.m. Wednesday in the 4100 block of Mt. Alifan Drive.
An officer who was already patrolling the area on a narcotics call found the man laying on the sidewalk, suffering from a serious gunshot wound.
His injuries are reportedly life-threatening.
"The victim was transported to the hospital, is currently undergoing treatment. We are combing the area looking for witnesses, and searching for evidence," said Captain Brian Ahearn with the San Diego Police Department.
Investigators are still trying to figure out how and why the man was shot.
So far there are no suspects.
