Police follow trail of leaking fluid to DUI suspect

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A DUI suspect is in custody Thursday after leaving behind a path of destruction and radiator fluid overnight.

Authorities say the suspect was drunk when he slammed into the back of a parked BMW around 2:00 a.m. at the intersection of Crawford and Twain in Grantville. The suspect then drove off, leaking radiator fluid along the way.

A short time later, the same driver allegedly side-swiped a Honda.

Officers followed the trail of leaking fluid to a house in the 5000 block of Rancho Mission Road. The suspect failed a field sobriety test and was arrested at the home.

He faces DUI and multiple hit-and-run charges.
