Former Mass. governor Michael Dukakis speaks at USD

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - One-time presidential nominee and former Massachussetts governor Michael Dukakis is in San Diego for a special appearance at USD.

"I want to encourage young people to go into public service. We're just producing some terrific young people in this country who are really interested in politics, interest in public service, want to get involved," Dukakis said.

Dukakis was invited to USD to talk about his life in politics and public service. He's been teaching for the past two decades and spends three months out of the year doing so in Southern California.

The event was for USD students, faculty and staff only.
