Small brush fire near Carlsbad - San Diego, California News Station - KFMB Channel 8 - cbs8.com

CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - Firefighters quickly gained the upper hand on a brush fire in the Buena Vista Lagoon off Interstate 5 between Carlsbad and Oceanside Wednesday morning.

The fire, in the in the 2100 block of South Coast Highway, was first reported around 5:30 a.m., after flames were seen burning in the reeds.

Firefighters battled the blaze from the ground with air support from helicopters making water drops.

The flames charred at least four acres.

No homes or structures were threatened and no injuries were reported.
