San Diego County gasoline price rises for 20th consecutive day

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County rose 2 cents Sunday to $4.247, its highest amount since Oct. 26.

The average price has increased 20 consecutive days, rising 52 cents over that span, including 2.7 cents on Saturday, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price is 10.5 cents more than one week ago, 54.7 cents higher than one month ago and 25.5 cents greater than one year ago.

The increasing prices are the result of reduced supplies caused by low levels of production in Southern California stemming from refinery maintenance, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
