2 teens arrested after high-speed pursuit

Posted: Updated:

SOUTHCREST (CBS 8) - A wild police chase early Monday morning ends with two teenagers under arrest and a third suspect on the loose.

Police say around 12:30 a.m. Monday an officer was patrolling the area when he noticed a car speeding on 28th Street.

The officer tried pulling over the driver for a speeding ticket but a 17-year-old female who was behind the wheel refused to stop.

The pursuit continued through the Sherman Heights area. While the officer was waiting for back up, he says he heard gunshots.

One of the suspects in the car allegedly threw a riffle out the window during the pursuit. The gun went off and shattered a window of a parked car nearby.

The driver and a passenger were arrested. A third suspect remains at large.
