ESCONDIDO (CBS 8) - A man is safe Wednesday morning thanks to two quick-acting Good Samaritans who pulled him from a burning car.
Witnesses say the Mercedes hit a traffic sign on Northbound Interstate 15 at Via Rancho Parkway in Escondido around 3:00 a.m.
A couple witnesses jumped in to help the driver, after the car burst into flames.
"Found the guy laying on the ground, he kinda fell out of the his car and myself and another guy pulled him out, got him away from it before it blew up," explained Zach Johnson.
The man was taken to a hospital. As of this report, there is no word on his condition.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
