SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Just like humans, sometimes elephants have to undergo unpleasant dental procedures.
A young elephant at the San Diego Zoo Safari Park spent Thursday getting a tusk pulled.
The 2 1/2-year-old male calf had an infected tusk. A team of more than 20 people used specialized tools for the procedure, the first of its kind undertaken at the park.
The lead vet says everything went well and Emanti rejoined the herd Thursday afternoon.
