CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - Being homeless didn't stop Jorge Palacios from graduating from Hoover High School and moving on to college.

Now, he has a new set of wheels to continue his inspirational journey.

Friday, Caliber Collision presented Palacios with the keys to a newly refurbished car so he can get to school and work.

Caliber Collision's Recycled Rides program is a collaboration with insurance companies to donate refurbished cars to deserving people and organizations in need.

Palacios says he is beyond touched by the generous gift.

"For me, it really inspires me and it's really encouraging to keep on going on and finish my goals. And also, I want to thank the crew for working on the car. So thank you guys," said Palacios.

Palacios now attends Southwestern College and is studying to become an EMT.
