Probation suspect leads police on chase, gets away

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Police are searching for a wanted probation suspect Wednesday morning who got away after leading officers on a chase in Linda Vista.

The chase ended Tuesday night in the 2300 block of Comstock Street, after the suspect lost control and hit several parked cars. He then got out and ran away.

Police searched by air and on the ground, but couldn't find him. A search of his vehicle uncovered narcotics, cash and a rubber grenade.

The bomb squad collected the device. Police say it posed no danger to the public.
