SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 25-year-old woman was stabbed early Wednesday by a man she confronted about loitering by her vehicle in Serra Mesa, a police officer said.
The woman confronted her alleged attacker in the 8800 block of Hammond Drive near Sandrock Road shortly before 3 a.m., San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros said. She sustained a stab wound to her stomach, which was not believed to be life-threatening, the officer said.
Police described the suspect only as male and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled Tuesday for a former San Diego police officer accused of groping four women during pat-down searches last year.
Chula Vista police will be looking for drivers talking or texting on cell phones Tuesday and through the end of the month as part of "Distracting Driving Awareness Month."
Police were on the lookout Tuesday for the man who fired a shot while robbing a Rolando-area smoke shop and his accomplice who emptied its cash register.
