SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Several local high school students will soon be working out on weight room equipment once used by the San Diego Chargers.
On Friday the team donated the state-of-the-art equipment to the San Diego Unified School District.
"It's equipment that a lot of our schools, even if they could afford to buy equipment, couldn't afford to buy this equipment," SDUSD Director of P.E. and Athletics Bruce Ward said.
The arrival of a new coaching staff and new weight room equipment meant the old equipment could be moved out.
The weights will end up at Hoover, Crawford and Scripps Ranch high schools.
