SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Sequestration budget cuts could impact the Navy and the war on drugs.
The Navy faces $9 billion in budget cuts.
Because of that, a spokesperson says, frigates will stop patrolling for drug runners starting in April.
Two vessels are patrolling the Caribbean and eastern Pacific right now.
The Coast Guard says that with the frigates out of the picture, the amount of drugs entering the country could increase.
