DEL MAR (CNS) - The Beach Boys will kick off the San Diego County Fair's concert lineup this year with a grandstand show on opening night June 8, fair organizers announced Tuesday.
Other headliners include REO Speedwagon on June 11, the Steve Miller Band on June 15, Bad Company on June 25 and the Happy Together Tour 2013 on July 4.
The latter concert will feature 1960's acts The Turtles, featuring Flo & Eddie; Chuck Negron, formerly of Three Dog Night; Gary Puckett & The Union Gap; Mark Lindsay of Paul Revere & The Raiders; and Gary Lewis & The Playboys.
Two local acts that have made it big will be taking the stage. Switchfoot is set to perform June 14, and former "American Idol" runner-up Adam Lambert on July 2.
The lineup also includes:

-- Mexican rock band Caifanes, June 18;
-- country singer Martina McBride, June 19;
-- Grupo Intocable, June 23;
-- Disney Channel star Bridgit Mendler, June 26;
-- San Francisco rock band Train, June 27;
-- the ninth annual Gospel Festival featuring Mary Mary and Dottie Peoples;
-- Julion Alvarez, June 30; and
-- "Weird Al" Yankovic: The Alpocalypse Tour," July 1.
Most shows are free with fair admission, with the exception of the Steve Miller Band, McBride, Bad Company, Train and Lambert.
