9 injured, including children, hospitalized after crash - San Diego, California News Station - KFMB Channel 8 - cbs8.com

CHULA VISTA (CBS 8) - Nine people, including children, were taken to the hospital after a car crash in the South Bay.

Two vehicles collided around 5:20 p.m. Sunday on Highway 54, east of Interstate 5 in Chula Vista.

At least one person had to be pulled from a red car that rolled about 200 feet down an embankment. 

A black SUV rolled over on the highway. Eight people from that vehicle required medical attention.

Seven ambulances and four fire trucks responded.

Authorities say drugs and alcohol do not appear to be a factor, but it's unclear what caused the accident.
