Families displaced by Escondido apartment fire

ESCONDIDO (CBS 8) - A family of six, including a baby, is safe after a close call in an Escondido apartment fire.

Flames broke out around 11 p.m. Sunday in the 1600 block of South Juniper Street.

When firefighters got there, they found a second story apartment fully engulfed. Crews knocked down the fire in about 20 minutes.

Two other families with babies were also evacuated.

No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
