San Diego gas price drops for 25th consecutive day

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in San Diego County decreased Sunday for the 25th consecutive day, falling six-tenths of a cent to $4.083.

The average price has dropped 21.1 cents over the past 25 days and is 6.1 cents less than one week ago, 21 cents lower than last month and 26.1 cents below what it was one year ago, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service.

The average price had risen 28 of the 30 days preceding the streak of decreases, increasing 56.7 cents over that span.

The dropping prices are the result of most California refineries concluding scheduled maintenance without experiencing any major incidents before the switch to summer-blend production, leaving adequate gasoline supplies, according to Jeffrey Spring of the Automobile Club of Southern California.
