LAKESIDE (CNS/CBS 8) - Sheriff's deputies located a missing 3-week-old baby and the aunt accused of taking her, at a transient camp in Lakeside Friday night.

Investigators say Deborah Ann Fowler, 49, took the infant to a camp off Lakeside Road and Channel Road. Deputies say Fowler's boyfriend is a known transient in the area.

According to the San Diego Sheriff's Department, the 3-week-old child, Anissa Von Goerlitz, was not injured, but she was transported to Children's Hospital for a check-up.

The infant had been reported missing about 11:15 a.m. by her grandmother, who is her legal guardian, according to deputies. The older woman told investigators that Fowler had taken the baby without permission.

Sheriff's personnel began looking through stretches of riverbed and other brush-choked terrain off the 10600 block of Vine Street in Lakeside in the late afternoon, after an SUV belonging to Fowler was found in the area, sheriff's Lt. Scott Amos said.

Fowler was taken into custody and is expected to be charged with vehicle theft and booked  into  Las  Colinas  Jail.  She could also face child endangerment charges pending the investigation.

More than 100 people assisted in Friday's search, including Border Patrol officers, as well as volunteers with the Sheriff's Search and Rescue Unit.
