SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 20-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries when the motorcycle he was riding was struck by a truck in San Diego's Talmadge neighborhood, police said Saturday.

The crash occurred around 10:05 p.m. Friday on El Cajon Boulevard near Altadena Avenue, said San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The victim, with a 21-year-old man aboard as a passenger, was passing a gas station when the truck making a left turn into the station struck the bike, Stafford said.

The 20-year-old suffered serious head, chest and leg injuries that are considered life-threatening while his passenger sustained a broken wrist, Stafford said.

Both were taken to a hospital, he said.

The truck driver, a 28-year-old man, was not injured, Stafford said.

Alcohol was not a factor in the collision, he said.
