SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A two-time Olympic gold medalist experienced San Diego's newest water sport Wednesday.

Susan Francia, who won her medals in rowing, suited up and took a jetpack ride in Mission Bay.

The jetpacks pump out 1,000 gallons of water per minute, allowing pilots to fly as high as 30 feet in the air.

"I felt really high and a couple of times I was like, 'Oh my god, what's happening right now,' but no, it was really fun," Francia said.

Susan said the skills she developed as a rower helped her with the jetpack, like making small adjustments to her movements to control the unit.

Jetpack rides start at $159. You can check them out for yourself at the Mission Bay Sports Center.
