SAN DIEGO (AP) - San Diego sheriff's deputies are searching for a jail inmate missing overnight after escaping from custody at a hospital
Sheriff's spokeswoman Jan Caldwell says 18-year-old Isaac Nachbar was arrested Wednesday night after he was seen pushing a stolen motorcycle in Encinitas.
Nachbar complained of feeling sick after he arrived at the sheriff's station for booking, and was taken to Scripps Encinitas Hospital.
While there, he asked to go to the bathroom. A deputy accompanied him and removed his handcuffs, but when the deputy tried to put the restraints back on, Nachbar pulled away and ran out of the hospital.
He has been missing since about 11 p.m.
