24th Annual Earth Fair in honor of Earth Day

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Hundreds of people headed to Balboa Park on Earth Day Sunday, helping to make the world a better place at the annual Earth Fair.

People checked out vendor booths, learning how they can help and checked out the latest in earth-friendly products.

While much of Sunday's event focused on the big picture, there are plenty little changes you can make everyday to help make a difference.

"We don't expect everyone to go plastic free, but there are single-use plastics we can remove today. We can make a conscious decision not to buy bottled water, to bring our own reusable bags, to refuse Styrofoam take out containers," said Haley Haggerstone with the Surfrider Foundation.

Sunday marked the 24th year of the annual event.

If you've ever been stuck sitting in traffic, you've probably seen motorcyclists cutting through lanes and whizzing by. It's a move called lane-splitting, and while it's potentially dangerous, it's perfectly legal.
