Detectives investigate stabbing in Linda Vista park

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Gang detectives Friday investigated the stabbing of a male in Linda Vista Community Park, police said.

The stabbing in the 7000 block of Levant Street was reported shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, according to San Diego police Officer David Stafford.

The victim was stabbed in the chest but was expected to survive, he said.

Earlier Friday, police said a suspect was in custody, but the statement was later retracted.

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - San Diego police are searching for a stabbing suspect in Linda Vista Thursday.

The stabbing was reported just after 4 p.m. Thursday near a recreation center in the 7000 block of Levant Street.

Officers say two men were involved in some type of fight when one stabbed the other.

The victim was taken to the hospital. His condition has not been released.
