Posted: Updated:

(CBS 8) - It was a special night to honor children in foster care here in San Diego at the 10th Annual "Help from the Heart" Gala, hosted by the non-profit organization Just In Time For Foster Youth.

News 8's Dan Cohen emceed the event at the Hilton Torrey Pines in La Jolla earlier this month.

Just In Time For Foster Youth in Old Town serves as an extended family for youth leaving the foster care system.

Money raised from the event will go toward support programs that help with housing, college resources, and community building for kids as they leave the foster system.

If you want to get involved, there is a raffle you can enter. For $99 you can enter to win a three-year lease on a Kia Fiat from Kearny Mesa Fiat.

The winner will be picked May 18th. For more information, go to jitfosteryouth.org/raffle.
