Donations help make necessary surgery possible for Bandit

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - News 8 viewers helped to cover the medical bills for a cat that was rescued from the jaws of a coyote.

Last week, we introduced you to Bandit and his owner Lauren Fanucchi. Bandit was snatched by a coyote off the porch of his Tierrasanta home, and Lauren chased down the animal until it let her cat go.

Bandit suffered head trauma and multiple broken bones that needed expensive surgeries to repair.

"I'm thankful for all of it, and for the people who donated, and just people caring is a miracle to me," Lauren said.

Right now Bandit's mouth is wired shut and he's being fed through a tube. He's expected to make a full recovery.
