POWAY (CBS 8) - Three men have been arrested in connection with a pot smuggling operation in Poway.

A K-9 with the Sheriff's Department found the drugs.

"He will wag his tail more. He will have increased respirations," said Deputy Plutarco Vail.

Detectives saw the men exchange spare tires with people from another car.

They stopped one of the cars on Scripps Poway Parkway and the dog alerted deputies to a spare tire containing 25 pounds of marijuana.

A 73-year-old man from Tijuana was arrested as well as two men, ages 19 and 20, from San Ysidro.
