San Diegans celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Old Town

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Sunday's rain and gloomy weather may not have been ideal for an outdoor celebration. But that didn't stop San Diegans from celebrating Cinco de Mayo in Old Town.

All weekend long, the "Fiesta Old Town" event gave everyone a taste of the best in Mexican culture. There were mariachis and plenty of traditional music and dance on display.

And no Cinco de Mayo celebration would be complete without delicious Mexican food hot off the grill.

"It's just a good celebration to be in Southern California to get in with the Hispanic community and go out there and celebrate."

"Fiesta Old Town" has been a San Diego Cinco de Mayo tradition for the past 30 years.
