Driver swerves to miss dog causes crash

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A driver, trying to avoid hurting a dog, ends up hurting himself and one other person overnight on Interstate 15.

The crash happened around midnight on southbound I-15 near University Avenue.

A driver spotted a dog running across the lanes and swerved to avoid hitting him. However, he hit another car instead. Both drivers suffered minor injuries in the crash and were transported to a local hospital for evaluation.

The dog was also hit and did not survive.
