SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Dozens of students were suspended after the twerking dance video surfaced and now some Scripps Ranch parents have unloaded on their school board members over the infamous video.
They made passionate pleas to San Diego Unified Board members to overturn a suspension and sexual harassment charges levied to more than 30 students.
In the video, made with school equipment, parents say the students performed the suggestive dance under the impression it was for a school project.
But after the three hour, closed door session, the board announced it has no power to overturn the punishment.
No student involved in the video has been blocked from walking in graduation or attending prom.
