ACLU speaks out against twerking suspensions

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The ACLU is asking Scripps Ranch High School to reconsider the suspensions and sexual harassment charges against 31 students for their roles in a twerking dance video.

In a letter to the school's principal, the organization says the suspensions "twist and trivialize" sexual harassment policies.

The letter was also sent to the school board and superintendent.

School Board Trustee Scott Barnett has already said the sexual harassment charges were unwarranted and should be expunged from the students' records.
