Man punches victim's car in road rage incident

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A man is facing vandalism and road rage charges after punching another driver's car in Serra Mesa Thursday afternoon.

Police say an altercation between the two drivers began on Baltic Street and Linda Vista Road.

The driver of one car reportedly got out, punched the second driver's vehicle and drove away.

That driver followed him and called police - a move officers don't recommend.

"We don't recommend you following the vehicle of another person because again we don't know what that person's intentions may be," said Acting Sgt. Salvador Hurtado Jr. with San Diego Police. "Just be a good witness. Get the information as far as their vehicle license plate and a general description, pull over and call 911."

Police stopped both vehicles and arrested the man.
