SAN DIEGO (CNS) - California Highway Patrol officers in San Diego County arrested 26 suspected drunken drivers from Friday evening to 6 a.m. Saturday, the CHP said.
Statewide, CHP made 362 suspected drunken driving arrests over the start of Memorial Day weekend, down from the 375 arrests made on freeways and in unincorporated areas during the same time period last year, the CHP reported. Last year's arrest figures for San Diego County were unavailable, according to the CHP.
Law enforcement officers from agencies across the state reported two fatalities between 6:01 p.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Saturday, none that occurred in San Diego County, the CHP said.
No fatalities were reported during the same time period in 2012, authorities said.
SAN DIEGO (NEWS 8) - At least two people were taken to area hospitals after a dispute between neighbors in Chula Vista led to gunfire.
