Family marks third anniversary of violent border death

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - The family of a man who died in the custody of border agents at the San Ysidro crossing continues to demand justice three years after his death.

Anastasio Hernandez Rojas, a father of five, died days after a violent confrontation with a group of officers. Cell phone video of the 2010 incident shows officers beating him and hitting him with a Taser.

On Wednesday, immigrant activists were joined by Rojas' widow in renewing the call for accountability.

"No longer can we allow local residents to be killed with impunity without any questions being answered, without any accountability and without any oversight," Christian Ramirez of Alliance San Diego said.

A grand jury is investigating allegations of excessive force.
