SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Basketball Hall of Famer Bill Walton helped dedicate a new recreation center for kids Friday.

Roosevelt Junior High in Balboa Park got new tennis and basketball courts. The bulk of the $60,000 cost was funded by the Junior Seau Foundation.

"Junior was a visionary. He was a selfless, humble, giving, sharing, loving, happy person, and for him to be standing above us all today and looking down and saying yeah, this is what its all about children having a chance," Walton said.

The tennis courts will be dedicated to Ben Press. He was a 1939 graduate of Roosevelt who went on to become a tennis pro.
