Camp Pendleton Marines accused of fraternization, adultery

Posted: Updated:

(CBS 8) - Five Camp Pendleton Marines are facing dismissal for alleged inappropriate conduct with a female lance corporal.

One of five staff sergeants was discharged after court-martial, another pleaded guilty to fraternization and adultery. Three others were also convicted of fraternization and were recommended for administrative separation.

The accused staff sergeants were allegedly involved with the same woman for several months.

Fraternization and adultery are military crimes because they can be detrimental to "good order and discipline."
