Attorney: Paris Jackson hospitalized but OK

Posted: Updated:

LOS ANGELES (AP) — The 15-year-old daughter of Michael Jackson is physically fine after being taken to a hospital early Wednesday, an attorney for Jackson's mother said.

Perry Sanders Jr. writes in a statement to The Associated Press that Paris Jackson is getting appropriate medical attention and the family is seeking privacy.

Fire and sheriff's officials confirmed they transported someone from a home in Paris' suburban Calabasas neighborhood for a possible overdose but did not release any identifying information or additional details.

Sanders declined further comment on Paris' condition or the circumstances that led to her hospitalization. The teenager has expressed interest in acting and frequently posts messages about her life on Twitter.

Her latest post was from the Beatles' song "Yesterday": "yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay."

LOS ANGELES (CNS) - Paris Jackson, the 15-year-old daughter of the late Michael Jackson, was hospitalized Wednesday after an apparent suicide attempt at a Calabasas home.

Someone made a 911 call at 1:27 a.m. reporting a possible overdose, and she was taken out on a stretcher around 2 a.m. and driven off in an ambulance, the celebrity website TMZ reported.

The teen's mother, Debbie Rowe, told "Entertainment Tonight" that Paris was taken to a hospital with cuts on her wrists. Citing unnamed sources, "Entertainment Tonight" and TMZ both reported that Paris was upset because she was not being allowed to attend a Marilyn Manson concert. Manson is scheduled to perform Thursday night at Gibson Amphitheatre with Alice Cooper.

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department spokesman Steve Whitmore confirmed that someone was taken by ambulance from an address on Prado de la Felicidad in Calabasas.

Early Wednesday, Jackson wrote on her Twitter page: "Yesterday all my troubles seemed so far away now it looks as though they're here to stay," and "I wonder why tears are salty."

Paris Jackson is the middle child of the late Michael Jackson. The pop superstar also had a now-16-year-old son, Michael Joseph "Prince" Jackson Jr., with Rowe. His third child, 11-year-old Prince Michael Jackson II, known as "Blanket," was born through a surrogate.
