SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - A San Diego Unified middle school teacher who brought a loaded gun onto campus has pleaded guilty to having a firearm in a school zone.

Ned Walker, 41, was carrying a colt semi-automatic pistol when police searched him at Farb Middle School in Tierrasanta on February 11.

Officers were tipped off by the school's principal, who had heard rumors that walker carried a gun for protection.

Walker faces up to five years in prison when he's sentenced on August 12.
