CARLSBAD (CBS 8) - A bald man armed with a pistol robbed a North County bank Monday.

It happened at the Silvergate Bank office in the 5800 block of El Camino Real in Carlsbad shortly before 10 a.m., according to police.

The thief, who appeared to be in his 30s, ordered everyone to the floor while displaying a black handgun. He then ordered two bank tellers demanded cash from a teller. He fled with an undisclosed amount of money.

Witnesses described the bandit as a bearded, athletic-looking, roughly 6-foot black man with a bald head. He was carrying an attache case with a shoulder strap and wearing dark-colored slacks, a white dress shirt, a striped tie and a black glove on his left hand.

The robber pulled some type of fabric over the lower part of his face before entering the bank, authorities said.

The suspect's image was captured by surveillance cameras at the scene.
