SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 36-year-old man was stabbed 14 times during a confrontation with another man in the East Village neighborhood near downtown, a police officer said Saturday.

The wounded man was taken to a hospital to be treated, Stafford said. His condition was not disclosed.

The knife-wielding suspect confronted the victim on F Street at 10th Avenue about 9:45 p.m. Friday, and allegedly stabbed the man in his torso repeatedly, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

Police described the alleged attacker as black, between 40 and 50 years old, about 6-feet-3 and 185 pounds. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and cargo pants.
