ESCONDIDO (CBS 8) - An investigation continues Monday into the death of an Escondido woman after police say her husband confessed to killing her.

Officers say 67-year-old Abdul Ibrahim walked into their department headquarters just after 3:30 a.m. Saturday and told officers he stabbed his wife to death. He then led officers to his home in the 1100 block of Catspaw Place, where they found the body a 64-year-old woman inside.

Stunned neighbors can't believe the news:

"This is really shocking. Nothing remotely like this has ever happened before. It's just really... It's gruesome."

Police haven't released a motive yet.

Ibrahim has been booked into Vista jail on one count of first degree murder and is set to be arraigned on Tuesday.
