CHULA VISTA (CNS) - Three people were arrested as part of a push by Chula Vista police to curb drunken driving in the city.
Officers conducted a saturation patrol on Friday specifically intended to stop drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs, according to Chula Vista police Officer Alicia Chudy.
In addition, a bicyclist was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance, according to Chudy.
"This was considered a successful DUI Saturation Patrol," Chudy said. "The Chula Vista Police Department is continuing its efforts to keep our community safe by detecting and deterring impaired drivers."
Chula Vista police received funding for the operation from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
