MT. HOPE (CNS) - A woman's ex-boyfriend and the ex-boyfriend's brother were attacked and injured Friday night by her nunchuck-wielding current boyfriend in a brawl following an argument, according to a San Diego Police officer.

The incident began at 7:37 p.m. at a residence on the 1000 block of 41st Street in the Mt. Hope neighborhood, San Diego Police officer Frank Cali said.

"The boyfriend and girlfriend got into an argument; and she called her ex-boyfriend and his brother, who intervened, and a fight ensued," Cali said. "The current boyfriend took out a set of nunchucks he had and started beating up the ex-boyfriend and his brother," he said.

According to Cali, the ex-boyfriend was beaten until he was unconscious and lying in the road..

"The suspect then got in his car and ran over him," Cali said. "He was about to run over him again when the ex-boyfriend's brother pulled him out of the street and he took off in his car."

Cali said the CHP then pursued the suspect in a brief chase that ended when his car crashed on the Ocean View Boulevard off-ramp of Interstate 15. The suspect was injured in the freeway crash, Cali said.

Cali said all four people involved in the melee, who were not identified, were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries.
