SAN DIEGO (CNS) - A 47-year-old man was hospitalized in critical condition Monday following a shooting in Mountain View that also wounded a bystander in her foot, police said.

The shooting outside Ocean View Liquor in the 3700 block of Ocean View Boulevard was reported at 9:38 p.m. Sunday, according to San Diego police Officer Dino Delimitros.

The victim was sitting in a parked Nissan across the street from the liquor store when he was fired upon by the gunman, who witnesses say shot several rounds while running toward the vehicle, Delimitros said in a statement.

A woman in the area was struck in the foot by a stray bullet, he said, noting she was expected to survive.

Police described the gunman as black, in his 40s, last seen wearing a light colored shirt with stripes and dark pants.
