SD County Housing Market: Prices increase, sales slow

SAN DIEGO (CNS) - Housing prices in San Diego County rose last month, but sales slowed, according to the latest figures from the San Diego Association of Realtors.

The 2,145 single-family homes that changed hands in June had a median price of $481,000, up 3.2 percent compared to May and up 23.3 percent compared to June 2012, according to SDAR.

The number of homes sold was 11.4 percent less than the previous month and 1.9 percent fewer than the same period last year, according to SDAR.

The SDAR reported that 1,003 condominiums and townhouses sold last month. The median price was $301,000, 1.5 percent lower than May. The median price of attached housing was 33.8 percent higher than June 2012.

Homes that sold in June were on the market an average of 48 days, down about 38 percent from June 2012.
