SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - This weekend, the local horse ranch community is raising money for the 10-year-old Bonita boy who died in a freak horse-riding accident.

On Tuesday, David Ochoa was riding with his family when his horse got tangled in wires and crushed the boy.

David died from his injuries.

Saturday, horse riders gathered at Blanco Brother Stables in the Tijuana River Valley for a memorial trail ride to Imperial Beach.

Those who knew David say he was an amazing young man.

"He was a professional. He was a professional little boy and I think he was more of a horseman than we all are. He was a better rider than all of us put together, I think."

Proceeds from Saturday's ride will help David's family with medical and funeral costs.
