19 rescued greyhounds arrive in San Diego

Posted: Updated:

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Nearly two dozen rescued greyhound dogs arrived in San Diego Saturday.

The 19 new dogs came from Kansas and joined 40 others at the Greyhound Adoption Center in El Cajon.

The dogs got a bath, new adoption photos taken and of course, plenty of love.

"They're good natured dogs. What I see in these dogs is a lot of potential. They've never spent any time as pets before this is all new to them. Some of these arrivals today are very young. So they're like a blank slate you can turn into a very loving, happy family pet."

Many of the dogs will be ready for adoption in six weeks.
