Padres CEO Tom Garfinkel resigns

SAN DIEGO (CBS 8) - Tom Garfinkel has resigned as President and CEO of the Padres, the team announced in a statement Tuesday.

Peter Seidler, lead investor of the San Diego Padres, and Ron Fowler, Executive Chairman both expressed their appreciation for Garfinkel's contribution to the padres.

Garfinkel was with the team for the last four years.

Fowler will assume Garfinkel's responsibilities on an interim basis until a new President and CEO is hired.
