SAN DIEGO (CNS) - The San Diego Padres will conduct U.S. Army Appreciation Day at Sunday's game against the San Francisco Giants at Petco Park, part of the team's full season of Sunday military salutes.
A pregame ceremony in honor of the U.S. Army will recognize soldiers from Fort Irwin in San Bernardino County. Dozens of future soldiers will take the oath of enlistment during the pregame ceremony.
Sgt. Jason Elliot from the La Mesa Army Recruiting Company will perform the national anthem.
Sunday's game will also mark the debut of KidsFest at Park, which will feature bounce houses and other inflatables, games, face painters, balloon artists and other kid-friendly activities.
